                                                             Earth the Moon, and the sun are constantly moving through 

space .that's why one night we may see a shining full moon and weeks  later see no moon at all. is the appearance of the moon the only thing  that changes because of these movements? No season changes, too, because of Earth's titled axis as it moves around the sun.

you rise early in the Morning, while it's still dark outside. You sit by the window and watch the sun come up. finally, day breaks, and sun begins its journey across the sky. But is the sun moving or are you?

                    Today ,we know that the sun appears to move across the sky because earth is spinning as it travels around the sun. But it wasn't long ago that people believed Earth was the center of the universe. they believed earth stood still and the sun traveled around it.

As recently as the days of Cristopher Columbus, some people also believed Earth was flat. they thought that if you sailed far out to see, you eventually would fall the edge of the world. How do you know this isn't true? How have scientist determined earth's shape?
